Car Tips from Bob Jordan

License Plates
License plate theft can be a problem. So go to a good hardware store
and buy some allen head bolts and an allen wrench.
Bolt your plates on with these and keep the wrench somewhere safe. That
way only you can remove them.
Broken Key Removal
Using a broken coping saw blade, insert the broken blade so the teeth
are pointing down and facing you.
Slide the blade down into the key-hole and position it so the teeth are
against the cut key edges, gently pull the saw blade and key out of the
key slot.
It works just about every time, with a little practice.
Save your fingers
Remove tail light bulbs with a piece of heater hose slipped over the
glass, or broken glass.
Magnetism
Its a wonderful way to retrieve dropped tools and parts but the magnet
keeps attaching itself to other stuff.
Just slide a rubber hose over all but the tip and easily retrieve those
elusive parts. "It works for me!" ~Bob

Fuel
With fuel prices on the increase, remember you do not always have to
use the hightest octance fuel for normal city driving, unless you are
racing or have a very high performance engine. You may be wasting
dollars by using the high priced spread (High Octane).
You may want to adt fuel injection cleaner to every third tank or so.
This keeps the fuel injectors clean and operating at their best and
saving those hard earned bucks spent at the gas pump.
Engine Oil
If you have not upgraded your engine oil to the new synthetic oils,
consider doing it as a favor to your engine.
The new synthetics and blends keep your engine cleaner, less friction,
and did you know you could extend the miles between changes.
They are also available for automatic transmissions too.
With our extreme tempuratures here in arizona it is like giving your
engine the attaboy
it deserves for its service to you.
